ANDY'S WILD WATER ADVENTURES!

Meet the Owners: Karen and Andrew “Andy” Reese

Other than my wife, boating is my passion.  I got hooked on rafting as a kid on a family vacation to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  Floating the Snake River with my dad below the Grand Tetons was simply beautiful, and I was filled with wonder and amazement.  My love of the outdoors led me into a career teaching Biology and Environmental Science to High School students.

My wife and I taught for 20 years of our lives where I had the opportunity to start an outdoor club on campus that specialized in rafting and teaching kids to become river guides.  Teaching gave me the opportunity to lead trips down over 30 rivers in the West, from Class II floats to hair-raising Class V+ wilderness adventures.  I also captained a race team that competed in national events.  All this time I dreamed of owning a rafting company, but believed that time would come when I retired from teaching.  When I reached my “forties” I knew I would not have the energy to run a rafting company when I retired from teaching in my “sixties.”  I realized that it was now or never, so we decided to take the plunge and that is what got us to this point in our lives.  We have a daughter named Alexa who loves the river as much as her dad and a dog named Rio (I think that says it all, at least if you know Spanish).  No matter which river you choose to go on with us it is my hope that you are also filled with the same wonder and amazement I experience every time I’m on a river.
